Men's Health

Are you stressed, tired and worn out?  Do you find it hard to get through the day only to come home and not have anything left to give your family? Do you experience symptoms of low mood, unintended weight gain, low libido, and burnout?

These symptoms can be due to imbalanced hormones.  Andropause is the male equivalent of menopause and is a syndrome of low testosterone in men as they age.  It does not occur at an exact age but it does become more frequent as men grow older.  Not only does low testosterone affect mood, energy, and libido, it also puts men at higher risk of cardiovascular disease, metabolic syndrome, osteoporosis/osteopenia, and cognitive decline.

If you are experiencing any of the above symptoms, there are effective treatment options available.  The first step is to book your consultation.

Andropause

By the time a man reaches his 30s his testosterone levels drop by as much as 1% per year, which can eventually lead to andropause by the time a man reaches middle age.

Testosterone deficiency syndrome encompasses a wide range of symptoms including fatigue, muscle weakness, muscle cramps, difficulty obtaining an erection, low libido, night sweats, depression, irritability, loss of motivation, low energy, and diminished strength and endurance.

Insulin resistance, certain medications, chronic stress, sleep dysregulation, and age all play a role in the decrease in testosterone seen as a man ages.

Benefits of testosterone replacement include improved sexual function, decrease in visceral (abdominal) fat, increased energy, improved mood, and maintenance of bone density.
